Stoughton Man Accused Of Threatening Police Officers

The suspect made "machine gun noises" in the direction of officers, police said.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man was arrested after he followed a police officer who cited him earlier, made threatening gestures towards that officer, and started filming inside the station, police said. James Page, 38, was charged with intimidating a witness, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and carrying a dangerous weapon during a breach of the peace.

Police told the Brockton Enterprise the incident started when James Page, 38, was cited Sunday afternoon because neighbors complained he was playing loud music in his car outside his Lothrop Street home. Police said Page shouted obscenities at the officer before he was cited. Minutes later, around 4:25 p.m., police said Page showed up at the Stoughton Police station and started filming the dispatch room with his phone. Lt. John Bonney told the Enterprise the room contains sensitive information that cannot be recorded by the public. Police said Page ignored several questions from officers before they asked him to leave. Page asked if he could file a complaint against the officer, but refused to fill out the paperwork, police said.

When Page left the station, police said he started filming the police cruisers, unmarked vehicles and officer's private vehicles. Page then made "machine gun noises" towards officers and made threatening gestures towards bystanders, police said. Police said they found a knife in Page's pocket after arresting him. Page was arraigned in Stoughton District Court Monday and was released on $1,000 bail.
