Stoughton Man Arrested on Gun Charges Following Chase Through Dorchester

Reynold Elie, 25​, faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of a firearm.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man faces charges after a foot chase through Dorchester, police said.

Reynold Elie, 25, was arrested Thursday night and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, second offense; unlawful possession of ammunition, level three; possession of a Class A drug; and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to the Boston Police Department.

At about 6:18 p.m., officers on routine patrol in Dorchester stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic infraction in the area of Whittemore Terrace. As the officers were approaching the vehicle, the operator, identified as Elie, quickly exited the vehicle and immediately took off running, police said. The Stoughton man was allegedly chased though multiple backyards, jumping fences and walls before he was arrested after a violent struggle on Trull Street.

Police recovered a loaded .22 caliber Sig Sauer handgun and a small amount of heroin.

Elie was scheduled to appear in Dorchester Municipal Court Friday.
