Stoughton Man Broke Into Familiar Home: Police

Police say Andrew Lima broke into a home on Southworth Court Monday.

STOUGHTON, MA - A Stoughton man has been charged with breaking into a home that was well known to him.

Andrew Lima, 24, was arrested Monday night and charged with with breaking and entering during the day with intent to commit a felony, malicious damage over $250 and larceny over $250.

At about 5 p.m., police received a call for a break-in on Southworth Court. Detective Sgt. Robert Welch told The Enterprise that the homeowner noticed that the back window was smashed when she came home. A man, later identified as Lima, was seen allegedly fleeing the scene but was taken into custody in the woods.

Police say he stole a laptop, leaf blower and jewelry.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Stoughton District Court.
