Stoughton Man Caught on Camera Stealing Scratch Tickets Arrested

James Wade, 48, turned himself in after allegedly robbing

A Stoughton man who allegedly walked out of a convenience store with a pile of scratch tickets will face multiple charges after turning himself into police.

James Wade, 48, was charged with breaking and entering into a building in the nighttime for a felony, wanton destruction of property over $250, and larceny from a building.

Early Thursday morning, police received a call from J&I Variety on Washington Street, reporting damage to the backdoor. When police looked at the surveillance video, they saw a man behind the counter, grabbing and leaving with what appeared to be scratch tickets.

The video was posted on the Stoughton Police’s Facebook page at 7:44 a.m. on Thursday. At 11:30 a.m., Wade arrived at the Stoughton Police Station to turn himself in.
