STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man faces his fourth drugged driving charge after crashing his car, police said.

Peter Butkevich, 38 was arraigned Monday in Stoughton District Court. In addition to his fourth drugged driving charge, he was also charged with possession of Class C and E drugs.

On July 24 at 11:40 a.m., a crash was reported on Central Street. When police arrived, they observed a Nissan Versa that was on the lawn with only the driver's side still on the road and a Chevrolet Impala parked sideways in a driveway. The driver of the Impala, identified as Butkevich, told police that he lost control of his car but could not remember how or very much about the crash, according to a police report.

Police say Butkevich appeared lethargic and doze off during conversation. When asked if he consumed alcohol Butkevich replied, "I haven't used any alcohol, but I used a lot of drugs," adding that he had xannie bars, Adderall, and Ritalin earlier. Police then asked if he thought the drugs contributed to the crash. Butkevich replied, "Oh most definitely."

A woman told police that Butkevich knocked on her door to tell her that he crashed into the car parked on her lawn. The owner of the car told police that she didn't see the crash but felt that Butkevich was in no condition to drive.
