Stoughton Man Charged In Marshfield Robbery

Eric Leppo, 53, faces charges of larceny from a person, larceny over $250, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man who allegedly took part in a purse robbery in Marshfield was arrested in his hometown Wednesday, police said.

Eric Leppo, 53, faces charges of larceny from a person, larceny over $250, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the Enterprise.

A victim told police that and she met Leppo, who is an acquaintance, and another man at the 7-Eleven on Plain Street Wednesday night. After they went to the woman's apartment, a stranger, who said he was a police officer, told everyone to get on the ground. Leppo then allegedly grabbed the woman's purse and run out of the building with the unknown man.

After a "be on the lookout" notice was sent to area police, officers in Stoughton were able to locate Leppo at a local Cumberland Farms.

Leppo was due to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court.
