Stoughton Man Charged with Threaten Girlfriend, Possessing Illegal Gun

A Stoughton man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly threatening his girlfriend with an illegal gun.

Joseph Miller, 32, was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, domestic assault and battery and threats to commit a crime, according to the Enterprise. He pleaded not guilty during his arraignment in Stoughton District Court Thursday morning and was ordered held on $50,000 bail.

Police received a call at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday from a female who said that Miller assaulted and threaten her in the Webster Bank parking lot on Washington Street. Miller fled on foot but was found by police on School Street.

The woman told police that he had a gun, which was located by officers during a search of their French Steet apartment.

Miller is due back in court on Dec. 30.
