Stoughton Man Charged With Trying To Burn Aston Martin
Prosecutors say Phoung Nguyen told police that he confronted the victim because he thought he was cheating on his cousin.

FRAMINGHAM, MA — A Stoughton man tried to turn a very expensive car into a very expensive fire, authorities allege.
Phuong D. Nguyen, 28, was arraigned in Framingham District Court Monday on charges of attempted arson of a vehicle, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, threatening to commit a crime and malicious damage to a vehicle. He released without bail, according to the Metrowest Daily News.
Prosecutors say Nguyen told police that he confronted the victim because he thought he was cheating on his cousin. The victim said the suspect came to his home looking for a fight, allegedly being told by Nguyen that he would return with his friends and kill him.

Following the threat, Nguyen allegedly placed fast foot bags under the victim's Aston Martin and set them on fire. The fire was still going when police arrived.
Nguyen denied any attempt of an assault.

Nguyen is due back in court Aug. 23.
