Stoughton Man Faces 3rd OUI Following Crash

James Kourafas​, 54, was also charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man is facing is third drunken driving offense following a crash Thursday night.

James Kourafas, 54, was also charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and failure to yield, the Enterprise reported. He was ordered held on $7,500 during his arraignment the following day in Stoughton District Court. If he post bail, Kourafas must refrain from driving.

Officers say Kourafas was behind the wheel of a van that struck a car while attempting to turn left from Pleasant Street to Chestnut Street. Kourafas allegedly had the smell of alcohol on his breath and admitted to having a couple of beers.
