Stoughton Man Killed in Stop & Shop Distribution Center Accident
Alphonse Ferent, 51, was crushed to death by a forklift during a late night accident.

FREETOWN, MA — A Stoughton man has died following an accident at the Stop & Shop distribution center in Freetown.
Alphonse Ferent, 51, was crushed to death by a forklift during a late night accident, Freetown Police Chief Carlton Abbott told the Fall River Herald News. At 12:38 a.m, police responded to a 911 call at the distribution center. Police say Ferent fell between a truck and loading dock as a tractor trailer was pulling away. After the fall, a forklift fell from the trailer and on to Ferent.
No foul play is suspected, but the incident is being investigated by police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
