Stoughton Man Leads Cops On Route 9 Chase In Wellesley: Police

A Stoughton man led Wellesley police down Route 9 until he crashed trying to squeeze through traffic at an intersection, police said.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man was arrested after police said he led officers on a chase down Route 9 in Wellesley before crashing into another vehicle. Albert Myers, 29, was charged with failure to stop for a police officer, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia, fugitive from justice, four warrant charges and fugitive from justice.

At 7:15 p.m. last Thursday, officers patrolling Worcester Street queried Myer's registration and discovered he had four warrants out for his arrest, police said. Officers tried to pull Myers over, but Wellesley police said he didn't stop. Instead, Myers slowed down briefly before accelerating down Route 9, according to police.

Myers then reversed direction and tried to squeeze through cars stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Worcester and Donizetti streets, but he crashed, police said. Police said Myers stopped after crashing but remained uncooperative while officers gave him directions. He was taken into custody and held without bail.
