Stoughton Man Robs Middleborough Bank: Police

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton man was arrested after police said he robbed a bank in Middleborough over the weekend. Steven Cerqueira, 36, was arrested Monday after turning himself in at the Stoughton Police Department. He was charged with unarmed robbery.

Around 12:30 p.m. Nov. 9, Middleborough police were called to the Santander Bank at 77 Center St. for a report of a bank robbery. Police said Cerqueira came into the bank, passed a note to the teller and demanded money.

Cerqueira left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police. No injuries were reported.

Cerqueira was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Wareham District Court.
