Stoughton Man Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run Crash, 1 Arrested
At the suspect's house, police said they saw a white Nissan Sentra with a damaged windshield, missing passenger-side mirror, and dents.

STOUGHTON, MA — A Stoughton woman was arrested after police said she hit a man with her car, drove away, and then tried to mislead police when they questioned her.
Marlene Perdigao, 23, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury, knowingly misleading police, and failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
On Wednesday around 7:30 p.m., police were called about a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in the crosswalk at the intersection of Washington and School streets. A 40-year-old man from Stoughton was rushed to Boston Hospital with serious injuries.

Police said they found a passenger side-mirror on the ground, which they believed came off the car when it hit the man. Based on part numbers on the mirror, police said they were able to determine that the vehicle involved was most likely a Nissan Sentra.
Officers ran a search of all white Nissan Sentras in Stoughton. Police tracked down the owner of one, who lived on Morton Street, a short distance from the site of the crash. When officers came to Perdigao's house, police said they saw a white Nissan Sentra with a damaged windshield, missing passenger-side mirror, and dents to the hood, fender, and passenger-side bumper.

Perdigao was driving the car, but she tried to mislead officer when they questioned her, according to police.
She will be arraigned in Stoughton District Court on Thursday.
