Stoughton Man Wins $1 Million Lottery Prize

A Stoughton man has become the first $1 million winner in a new Massachusetts Lottery game.

Local resident Greg Armstrong won the prize while playing the Lottery’s $2,000,000 50X Cashword instant game.

Armstrong chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before tax withholdings), according to the Massachusetts Lottery. He intends on using a portion of his winnings for his wedding and to buy a new home, according to the lottery

The winning ticket was purchased at R.K. Mart, 141 Broad St. in Weymouth. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale.
