Stoughton Native Recognized by Kennedy Center

Lauren Cronan was one of 14 people honored for their work on the Stonehill Theatre Company's fall production.

A Stoughton resident was recently honored by the Kennedy Center for her work in theater at Stonehill College.

Lauren Cronan, who is a member of the college’s Class of 2011, was one of 14 people recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for their work on the Stonehill Theatre Company’s fall production of the Serpent Woman, according to a press release from Stonehill College.

Cronan, who was on the make-up, team, received honorable mentions.

Started in 1969 by Roger L. Stevens, the Kennedy Center’s founding chairman, the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) is a national theater program involving 20,000 students from colleges and universities nationwide annually. For 46 years, the organization has served as a catalyst in improving the quality of college theater in the United States. KCACTF has grown into a network of more than 700 academic institutions throughout the country.
