Stoughton Officer Promoted to Sergeant

STOUGHTON, MA - A Stoughton officer has been promoted to Sergeant.

Roger Hardy received the promotion Thursday at a pinning ceremony at the police station. Sergeant Hardy's wife Susan proudly his badge on his shirt, according to the police department.

During the ceremony acting Chief Donna McNamara noted Hardy's background which includes two Community Service awards, a promotion to Detective in 2009, two letters of commendation in 2005 and 2006, two 2 Meritorious Unit Awards for his work in a shooting investigation and a drug investigation, and the Exceptional Service Award in 2013 by the Massachusetts Juvenile Police Officers Association.

In addition, Hardy Roger been part of a team at the forefront of School Safety Training by implementing training for the Town of Stoughton Police and School Staff in ALICE training.
