STOUGHTON, MA — Thursday is the last day of school, and thanks to the Stoughton Police Department, the students of Wilkins Elementary School got a gift to help them enjoy their summer vacation safely. On Wednesday, Officer Matthew Gada visited the school and gave out dozens of bike helmets. The bike helmets came from a grant Lt. Daniel Carmichael secured last year.

"Officer Gada spent some time at the Wilkins Elementary School to hand out those helmets," Stoughton police said on its Facebook page. "He had a terrific time and the kids did too. We’d like to thank Mrs. (school counselor Katharine) Pearl and the staff at the Wilkins School for being so accommodating."
