Stoughton Police Giving Out Autism Awareness Seat Belt Covers

STOUGHTON, MA — The Stoughton Police Department is helping keep residents with autism spectrum disorder safe in the event of an emergency thanks to a donation from Sheriff Jerry McDermott in the Norfolk County Sheriff's office.

McDermott donated autism awareness seat belt covers that let first responders know if someone in a car has the disorder. All the seat belt covers say "I have autism. I may resist help."

Anyone who wants one of the seat belt covers can come by the Stoughton Police Station at 26 Rose St. and pick one up from the desk officer.
