Dinah Altman lives in Sharon, where she is a piano player and teacher. She studied drawing and painting at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, earning a certificate in Continuing Education. Dinah was drawn to the expressive nature of art, and uses color, form and touch to express what she feels and thinks about. Although there are often recognizable images in her work, the emphasis is on the inner life of feeling, rather than what a camera or unfeeling eye might observe. Dinah feels art is a way to connect to the human family. Some of the titles include: "The Garden of We," "Kindling, Love is Born," "Silent Scream," "My Mother's Passing," "Sad-Eyed Lady," "Free Dance." Come down to the library and see if you can relate to these paintings.
