Stoughton Recreation Now Hiring!

The Stoughton, MA Recreation Department is seeking qualified applicants for the following seasonal summer positions:

• Summer Playground Counselors
• Summer Playground Counselors in Training (CITs)
• Lifeguards – Ames Pond
• Water Safety Instructors – Ames Pond

Summer Playground Counselors/CITs

Under the guidance and supervision of the Playground Director, counselors will be responsible for facilitating relationships between all participants of the playground program through the implementation of activities such as sports, arts and crafts, field trips, and special events. Previous experience with camp programming or previous counselor experience is preferred. Hourly rates are based on experience.

Job Requirements

• Minimum age of 16 years old, priority given to high school graduates
• Must be available from June 27 – August 12
• CPR/First Aid Certified preferred
• Successful experience/strong interest in working with children in a camp or educational setting

Lifeguards & Water Safety Instructors – Ames Pond

Under the supervision of the Head Lifeguard and the Stoughton Recreation Director, candidates will ensure the safety of patrons at Ames Pond by preventing and responding to emergencies. Hourly wages based on experience.

Job Requirements:

• Assist and lead swim lessons for all ages.
• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in and around the facility.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services
• Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility
• Helps to prepare swim class schedules
• Must hold current Lifeguard or WSI certification
