Stoughton Returns to Davenport Title Hunt with Win Over Foxborough
Stoughton football defeated Foxborough 14-0 Friday night.

The Stoughton Black Knights are back in the saddle when it comes to the race for the Davenport Division football championship.
Izon Price and Ryan Sullivan both scored on the ground and the defense pitched a shutout as Stoughton beat Foxborough 14-0 at Ahern Field in Foxborough to improve to 3-3.
With the win, Stoughton is now tied for first in the division with Foxborough and Canton. All three teams have a divisional record of 3-1 going into the final week of regular season football.

“We’re getting better. Now we’re back in the hunt for the league,” Stoughton coach Greg Burke said, “We could have packed it in this week, but they worked hard for this one. I’m so proud of the win to get us possibly back in the playoffs.”
Facing a third and three at the Foxborough 21-yard line, Price was able to run up the middle on Stoughton’s first drive for the game’s opening score. It was a preview of things to come as Stoughton’s running strategy proved to be nearly unstoppable against a Foxborough squad that could not find any momentum all night.

The Warriors best chance to get on the board and tie the game came with time ticking away in the second quarter. After Foxborough blocked a punt that was recovered inside Stoughton territory, the Black Knights got the ball back a play later on a Xzavian Marrero interception, his first of two.
A 54-yard run by Price set Stoughton’s second touchdown of the game, a two-yard run by Sullivan with 2:54 remaining in the third quarter.
Stoughton can clinch at least a share of the Davenport Division title next week when they face Milford.
