Stoughton School Committee Chair Gets Second Term

Stoughton, MA — The chairperson of the Stoughton School Committee will get another term as the board’s leader.

Tuesday night, Katie Pina-Enokian was named to her second consecutive term with a unanimous vote from the school committee. She was originally named the chair last year

Also getting a second term as vice-chair was Molly Cochran. She was reelected with a 4-1 vote. Joaquin Soares was the lone no vote.

Instead of reorganizing after an election, the school committee chooses their chairperson and vice-chair at the end of the school year so the leadership can remain the same for the entire school year. The only exception is if a member is voted out of office and there is an immediate need for a new chair or vice-chair.
