Stoughton Schools to Ask for $2 Million Increase in Spending
The hike would increase the Stoughton school budget to $43 million.

The Stoughton Public Schools have asked for an increase of just over $2 million for their fiscal year 2016 budget.
The 4.67 percent hike would bring school spending to about $43 million according to the Boston Globe.
Superintendent Marguerite Rizzi said the increase in spending would include three new math support staff positions, one each at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

The school district will also ask Town Meeting for $2.25 million to replace windows and doorways at West Elementary; $40,000 to replace a school department truck; $100,000 for a fire suppression system at two schools; $65,000 for an air conditioning system in the O’Donnell School media center; and $75,000 for air conditioning in the Stoughton High School administrative offices.
