Stoughton Schools Names New Food Services Director

STOUGHTON, MA — Stoughton Public Schools has appointed a new food services director.

Jose Raposo began the job last Monday, bringing 15 years of food service management experience, the school district announced on Tuesday. He spent the past three years in an administrative position with the Fall River Public Schools food services department and previously worked as a manager for Darden Restaurants Group.

District officials said Raposo is committed to providing students with nutritious, high-quality meals and views access to healthy food as an important part of student success.

“We interviewed a highly-qualified pool of candidates; Mr. Raposo was the clear front-runner and we are very happy he accepted the position,” Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations Heidi Perkins said. “We feel fortunate to have him here at SPS.”

Raposo joins the district as Massachusetts continues its permanent universal school meals program. Students attending schools that participate in the federal school lunch and breakfast programs are entitled to one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day.
