STOUGHTON, MA — School Digger, a nationwide school rankings site, released its updated list of top Massachusetts schools and school districts Thursday, and the Stoughton Public School System was ranked lower than it was a year ago. In the new rankings, which were based partially on MCAS test data the state released last week, Stoughton was 189th, down from 168th a year ago. The rankings mean Stoughton performed better up than 43.4 percent of all other districts in the state. That's the lower than the school district's high water mark of 49.4 percent in 2016. Thursday's School Digger release also showed how individual schools in the district compared to every other school in the state: <ul><li>South Elementary, 125th out of 934 elementary schools.</li><li>Gibbons Elementary, 496th out of 934 elementary schools.</li><li>Hansen Elementary, 562nd out of 934 elementary schools.</li><li>Dawe Elementary, 570th out of 934 elementary schools.</li><li>West Elementary, 621st of 934 elementary schools.</li><li>O'Donnell Middle School, 217th of 476 middle schools.</li><li>Stoughton High School, 159th of 340 high schools.</li></ul><hr />Dave Copeland contributed to this report.
