Stoughton Teen Tried To Take Out Gun During Chase: Cops
A Stoughton teen attempted to outrun officers in Boston Saturday, police said.

BOSTON, MA — A Stoughton teen attempted to outrun officers in Boston Saturday, police said.
At about 7 p.m. on Jan. 27, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force stopped an individual believed to be in possession of a firearm in the area of Ames Street and Ames Way. When officers approached the individual to further investigate the incident and confirm the presence of a firearm, the person, identified as 19-year-old Jerion Moore of Stoughton, attempted to run from the approaching officers, according to the Boston Police Department.
While running behind the suspect, officers allegedly observed the individual reaching for and grabbing a firearm which could be seen in the suspect’s right jacket pocket. Upon seeing the firearm, officers told Moore to drop the gun. Moore, however, kept running, police said.

After a lengthy foot pursuit, officers were able to locate and subdue the suspect in the area of 81 Floyd St.
Police were unable to find the gun until they traced the steps taken by the suspect during the foot pursuit. The weapon was located along a fence inside a neighboring yard in the area of 89 Floyd Street. The firearm, a loaded a black Sig Sauer 9mm, was taken into evidence.

Moore was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm on a public way.
