Stoughton Woman Charged with Trafficking 85 Grams of Cocaine

Jeannie Ortiz faces charges from a traffic stop on Interstate 84, state police said.

STURBRIDGE, MA — A Stoughton woman faces drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 84.

Jeannie Ortiz, 41, and Domingo Ortiz, 51, of Lynn, were arrested by the Massachusetts State Police and charged with trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to violate drug law. Ortiz was also issued a citation for a motor vehicle violation, police said.

Sunday afternoon at around noon, Trooper Sergio Figueiredo of the State Police Sturbridge Barracks stopped a Pontiac Bonneville on Interstate 84 East in Sturbridge for a motor vehicle violation. Following an investigation, both Jeannie Ortiz and Domingo Ortiz were found to be in possession of approximately 85 grams of cocaine, police said.

Both suspects were ordered held on $25,000 bail. They are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Dudley District Court.
