Stoughton's Cadigan to Captain Bentley Football Team

Stoughton's Chris Cadigan is one of five captains on the Bentley University football this season.

The Boston College high product is joined by Matt Campo of Dedham and Catholic Memorial, Danny Guadagnoli of Framingham, Blaine Hopwood of New Bedford, Lorenzo Warren of Boston College High.

Stoughton's Adam Leonard is a freshman linebacker.

"This year's captains represent everything a coach looks for in player leadership," said head coach Thom Boerman. "All of these young men worked very hard in the offseason to prepare themselves for this upcoming season. In addition to the conditioning work they put in this summer, they also were all involved in our TEAM IMPACT community service project with a young man from Lowell, Will Bush."

The 290-pound Cadigan is an anchor on the offensive line for the Falcons. He's been Bentley's starting center in every game over the last two years and helped the 2012 team average 377 yards, 26.3 points and nearly 20 first downs a game.

"They are all good students, respected by their teammates and coaches, who understand the role of a captain on a college football team," said Boerman, who enters his fifth season with a 27-10 career record.  "I have every confidence that they will represent me, the coaching staff and the team with class and with the effort it takes to make a team successful both on and off the field."
