Stoughton's Wes Hazard Earns 'Wicked' Third Win On Jeopardy!

Culver City, CA — Stoughton's Wes Hazard faced tough odds being down $18,400 to $13,200 to Becky Wilson going into Final Jeopardy last night.
The question was in the category "Agriculture" and asked what fruit Turkey is the world's largest producer of. Neither Wes nor any of his competition answered the question correctly, but his shrewd play won him the game and a chance to fight another day.
The answer to the question was cherries. Both Hazard and Wilson guessed figs, while Doug Dworkin guessed dates.

According to Jeopardy Host Alex Trebek, Hazard won the night prior using a similar low wage tactic in final jeopardy. Both nights, he stayed competitive until the end and was smart with his money.
Hazard finished his first night with $14,400 in winnings making his total winnings thus far $26,795.
When Hazard isn't on Jeopardy, he's hosting National Public Television's show Stories from the Stage. During last night's episode of Jeopardy, Hazard described the show as people coming to tell first person stories on theme.
Hazard said, "I feel it's the best way to learn not just about people, but this country as a whole."
His third night of competition was once again a success. Hazard finished the night with a win and $24,001 to bring his three-day total to $51,196.
In Final Jeopardy, Hazard wagered 3,001 - close to the minimum he needed to win. Wednesday's night answer was, "'Son of a Witch' and 'A Lion Among Men' are sequels to the book that inspired this musical." The question? What is Wicked.
Hazard will be back for his fourth game Thursday night.
