Alexander Nguyen, 21, was arraigned Monday in Stoughton District Court.

Sharon, MA - A Sharon man involved in a road rage incident threaten to kill another driver if he remained in his way, court documents said.

Alexander Nguyen, 21, was arraigned Monday in Stoughton District Court. He pleaded not guilty to assault and battery, threats to kill, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace. All the charges stem from a June 12 road rage incident. He is free on $15,000 bail and must pay another $5,000 before his next court appearance.

On June 12, at about 2:23 p.m., police responded to an incident near the intersection of East Street and Madison Avenue. When they arrived, they observed members of the Sharon Fire Department attending to the victim, a Stoughton man. According to a police report obtained at Stoughton District Court, the victim was bleeding from the left eye and had contusions on the left side of his forehead.

The victim told police he was driving in his car with his children when an Acura SUV approached him from behind at a high rate of speed. The operator then honked the horn and flipped his middle finger. The victim then pulled over to allow the SUV to pass him, but instead, Nguyen allegedly told the victim that he would kill him if he didn't stay out of his way. The victim replied that he was with his kids and would not drive over the speed limit. Nguyen then drove away, as did the victim before deciding to go to the police station to file a police report.

While driving to the station, Nguyen again found himself behind the victim. Once again, the victim pulled over to let Nguyen pass, but Nguyen also pulled over, allegedly parking with half his car on the road and the other half on a lawn. After both men got out of the car, Nguyen allegedly said to the victim, "I told you to get the **** out of my way you *****."

A confrontation then took place, with the victim telling police that he got punched and the next thing he remembered is opening his eyes as a woman he didn't know held his hand and told him police were on the way.

Four days after the incident, the victim went to the police station to tell police that he believes he saw the suspect's vehicle around town. By June 17, Nguyen was named a suspect in the incident.

Nguyen turned himself into police on June 18 but had a different recollection of the events. While admitting that he drove the Acura, he said that the victim threw the first punch and he threw no more than three punches in self-defense, with the last one knocking out the victim.

A truck driver who was driving down East Street told police he witnessed the incident and said Nguyen attacked first while the victim tried to fight back but was knocked out.

Nguyen is due back in court for a pre-trial hearing on July 23.
