Teen Arrested for Car Break-ins On Birthday

Three Brockton teens face larceny charges after allegedly breaking into vehicles around Stoughton.

A Brockton teen likely had an unhappy birthday after he was arrested by police for breaking into at least six cars around Stoughton early Tuesday.

Paulo Baptista, 18, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, three counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle at night and three counts of receiving property over $250 according to the Enterprise.

According to police, Baptista, along with two minors from Brockton, parked their car and allegedly began to try to open car doors. After police were notified of the teens, a resident told police that they saw three teens in hoodies run into a wooded area near Maraglia Road.

Police say that the three allegedly took mostly electronics, GPS devices, and phone chargers.

Baptista was arraigned in Stoughton District Court on Wednesday and was ordered held on $4,000 bail, while the other two will be arraigned in Dedham Juvenile Court.
