Town Could Purchase Stoughton Train Station
Voters at Special Town Meeting will be asked to allow the town to buy the building from the MBTA.

The Stoughton train station could soon become the property of the town.
Residents at this month’s Special Town Meeting will be asked to authorize the selectmen to use $350,000 in Community Preservation Act funds to purchase the property from the MBTA according to the Enterprise. An additional $350,000 will be requested to rehabilitate the building.
If residents choose to support the articles, the town will begin a search for a tenant. Currently, the building is unused, with commuters purchasing tickets on the train.
