Two Stoughton Police Cruisers Towed Away Following Car Crash

Even though there weren't any serious injuries, Police Lt. Bonney said three police officers were transported to the hospital.

STOUGHTON, MA — A car crash yesterday at the intersection of Pearl Street and School Street caused the towing of two police cruisers and damage to an additional two vehicles.

Keith Godwin, who heard the crash and arrived afterwards said he saw a Toyota SUV with damage to its front end. He said he saw another SUV involved with the crash behind it.

According to Police Lieutenant John Bonney, the accident took place in the midst of responding to a separate incident.

Bonney said, "The officers were responding with lights and siren to a high priority call. We are certainly thankful there weren't serious injuries."

Even though there weren't any serious injuries, Bonney said three police officers were transported to the hospital.

Godwin said one person was taken away in an ambulance "I don't know what if any injuries," said Godwin. "He was walking and talking."

In the mean time, the Stoughton Police Department needs to operate down two police cruisers until repairs can be made. Bonney said, "It will be a strain on the fleet, but we should be able to absorb in the short-term."
