Visions For Vacancies: Stoughton Groomers/Missy's Puppyland

Drive around Stoughton and you'll notice a number of empty storefronts and buildings.

We're continuing a new series titled "." We'll showcase an empty storefront and ask you what should take up the space.

Last week we asked what you would like to see done with the , located at the corner of Freeman St. and Washington St. in downtown Stoughton.

This week, we turn our attention to the former Stoughton Groomers and Missy's Puppyland location at 883 Park Street in Stoughton.

The building has been vacant since August 2011, at Stoughton Groomers.

A week before that attempted case of arson, a Stoughton resident who was allegedly drunk, tried to take a dog from Stoughton Groomer's fenced-in yard, allowing eight other dogs out.  One dog was killed, and another was

Prior to Stoughton Groomers, another kennel known as Missy's Puppland set up shop there.

The owner, Gloria Marriott, known at the time as Linda Snow, to perjury, identity fraud and furnishing false information in a court proceeding for pretending to be someone else throughout that 2008 Norfolk Superior Court prosecution, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office. She has been sentenced to two years in prison.
