Woman Accused of Driving into Pole Charged by Stoughton Police

Police say Rose Derogene, 48, of Brockton crashed her SUV after attempting to pass another car.

A Brockton woman has been charged after allegedly crashing into a pole on Central Street.

Rose Derogene, 48, of Brockton, was charged with marked lanes violation and failure to use care in passing according to the Enterprise. She was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash.

As around 8:50 a.m. Thursday, a Honda CR-V allegedly driven by Derogene crossed the center lane and hit a pole. Police say Derogene attempted to drive around another car and hit the curb. She attempted to pass the car on the right while it was waiting to turn, according to police.

The crash shut down Central Street for hours and cut off power for nearly 1,000 residents.
