12-Year-Old Rushed to Hospital With 'Possible Life Threatening' Injuries After Crash

A 12-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital by helicopter on Sunday after a two-car crash on Landham Road at Pelham Island Road in Sudbury.

Around 8:30 p.m., police received many 911 calls reporting the accident.

When police and fire got to the scene, a 12-year-old boy was unresponsive in the back seat. He was the most seriously injured, with possible life threatening injuries, said police, and was transported by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital.

The front passenger of that same vehicle was extricated with the jaws of life by Sudbury fire personnel, and sustained minor injuries. The other car’s driver was transported to Framingham Metrowest Medical Center by Wayland fire. All other occupants refused treatment, said police.

Landham Road was shut down for several hours while the scene was cleared, and Massachusetts State Police Reconstruction Team and Crime Scene Services investigated. The accident remains under investigation by the Sudbury Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police.

One of the drivers has been cited with operating to endanger and stop sign violation and the other operator has been cited with a seat belt violation.
