200 Take Part in First Wally 'Bells-On' Run and Walk

Michael Clements of Marlborough won the men's 5K and Lauren Lesniak won the women's. Sudbury runners both won the mile runs.

Some 200 runners took part in the first Wally ‘Bells-On’ 5K Run/Walk on Oct. 5. The event, hosted by the Sudbury Teachers Association and Marx Running and Fitness Center, took place on a beautiful Sunday morning.

Michael Clements of Marlborough won the men’s 5K with a time of 18:45 and Lauren Lesniak won the women’s 5K with a time of 19:15. The mile run was won by Bobby Haarde, 11, of Sudbury with a time of 6:41 and Annie Rapisarda, 7, of Sudbury, with a time of 7:31.

All proceeds from the race benefit the Wally Bell Scholarship Fund, which gives 4-5 scholarships to graduating L-S seniors.
