$2K Worth of Handbags Shoplifted from TJ Maxx

The following information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. Where arrests are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

An employee at TJ Maxx contacted the Sudbury Police Department on April 1 after someone allegedly nabbed numerous handbags.

According to Lt. Scott Nix, one person inside the store was able to get the license plate of the car the alleged shoplifter left in.

Responding officers checked the area but were unable to locate the person or the car.

Nix said the value of the handbags ranged from $2,000 to $2,500.

In other news from April 1:

  • A North Road resident reported receiving a suspicious phone call inquiring about her banking information. No information was shared. Sudbury police advise residents to not share personal information over the phone in situations where you can't verify it is your bank or financial institution calling.
  • A person walked in to the police station to report he thought his ex-girlfriend, who has a restraining order against him, was trying to elicit him into violating the order. Both parties were spoken to regarding what is considered appropriate conduct. A report was filed but no violations were made.
  • A Barbara Road resident reported being solicited by phone regarding a Sudbury police officer who had recently died. The resident was asked to leave a check on her door. Nix said none of his officers have died recently and the department is not soliciting residents for funds. Residents are asked to be aware of this scam.
  • Officers were dispatched to Hudson Road for a two-car accident. No injuries reported and no tows were needed.
