I write this letter today to encourage my fellow Sudbury residents to vote for Carol Bradford for another term on the Board of Health on March 28. Having been a resident of Sudbury for over 25 years I have come to know Carol as a tireless advocate for the health and wellbeing of our town and fellow residents.

As a nurse with over 40 years of experience, from a Boston intensive care unit to the lead nurse for our public schools, Carol has demonstrated her knowledge, work ethic, and passion for public health time and time again. As a member of the Sudbury Board of Health since 2010 most recently as the Chair, Carol has led with a steady hand and a calm voice through both good and most recently extremely trying times.

The role of the Board of Health is to set policies that prevent and control disease, promote healthy communities, and protect the environment. I have seen Carol advocate tirelessly to achieve these objectives through her work with the Medical Reserve Corps, the school system, and the Board of Health.

With the Medical Reserve Corps where I have worked with Carol for many years and where she currently serves on the Board, she has helped to set up flu clinics attended by thousands of Sudbury residents over the years. She has also assisted with shelters in times of weather emergencies that have helped protect the vulnerable.

To know and work with Carol is a privilege and a blessing. She has positively impacted untold numbers of families, children, and aging adults, with her dedication, knowledge, patience, and commitment.

Sudbury would be lucky to have Carol continue to serve in her role on the Board of Health for another three years.

I'm writing to support Carol Bradford for the Sudbury Board of Health.

As a parent of two children at Noyes, I've been so grateful for all that Carol has done for my family and for Sudbury, both pre-Covid and through these challenging times. Everyone in Sudbury has benefited from Carol's tireless service. Her experience and qualifications for the Board of Health speak for themselves. But it's the impact of her service that means the most to so many of us. We experienced it first-hand.

When the pandemic arrived, we relied on Carol's expertise and tremendous communication skills to make sound choices to keep our children safe, healthy and happy. I can't imagine having to navigate any of the difficult choices over the past few years without her guidance and service. Looking back, we're humbled when we think of how fortunate we were to have her at Noyes and on the Board of Health. As a member of the Board of Health, Carol provided expert leadership for the entire town of Sudbury, as she has done for many years, and in so many ways.

Prior to the pandemic, too few of us knew what a critical role the Board of Health played in our overall health and wellbeing. The duties of the Board of Health are vast. The public health challenges we will face are increasingly hard to predict. Today, with the full benefit of hindsight, it's abundantly clear that Carol is the best choice for the Board of Health. Not just because she has a track record of successful leadership, but because she's the best-equipped candidate to guide the community through whatever might come next.

Devoted leaders like Carol directly improve our lives, and they make Sudbury a place we are proud to call home. Please join me in voting for Carol's re-election to the Board of Health. We are a healthier, better-informed, and stronger community because of her service.

As a resident of Sudbury, I heartily endorse Carol Bradford in her run for re-election to the Board of Health. Over the past two decades Carol has consistently shown immense skill and dedication to the Town of Sudbury in her roles as Lead Nurse for Sudbury Public Schools, Medical Reserve Corps Executive Committee Member, and Member and now Chair of the Board of Health. Carol’s compassion and breadth of public health experience is especially critical given the increasingly complex and broad range of BOH duties. Carol’s keen interpersonal skills and ability to think critically even when under pressure, make her a natural and steady leader. Carol understands and has always been dedicated to addressing the physical and mental health challenges faced by students, families, and our most vulnerable residents. Her ability to focus on and process constantly evolving scientific information and health data is essential to the wellbeing of all Sudbury residents.

Please join me in voting for Carol Bradford on Monday, March 28th.
