Adopt A Street: Sudbury To Hold Annual Roadside Cleanup Day This Month
Residents are encouraged to "adopt" a street, park, or other area and spend the day collecting trash along their chosen route.

SUDBURY, MA — Residents in Sudbury are invited to take part in the town’s Annual Roadside Cleanup Day, set for Saturday, Apr. 25, an event aimed at beautifying local roads, parks and public spaces.
Sudbury Cleanup Day, an annual effort organized by the town's Select Board office, brings together volunteers from across the community to pick up litter and improve the overall appearance of neighborhoods. Participants are encouraged to sign up in advance to “adopt” a street, park, or other area and spend the day collecting trash along their chosen route.
To help the Cleanup Day litter stand out for DPW pickup, the town will provide garbage bags and bag stickers to participants.

The town said volunteers can pick up their kits at one of the following offices: DPW, 275 Old Lancaster Rd; Flynn Building, 278 Old Sudbury Road; Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Rd; Park and Recreation, 40 Fairbank Rd; or the Senior Center, 40 Fairbank Rd.
After the cleanup, residents can place the bagged litter in a single consolidated pile in a visible area along the adopted route, preferably at the intersection of two streets.

Town crews will then collect the bagged waste on Monday, Apr. 7. DPW crews will drive along all adopted routes to collect the bagged litter, according to the town.
Each year, the event draws participation from civic groups, local businesses and residents of all ages, highlighting a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and community pride.
Students can also earn community service credit by participating and submitting documentation of their work.
Town officials say the cleanup plays an important role in maintaining Sudbury’s natural beauty while fostering a sense of community involvement. Residents who cannot participate on Apr. 25 may still take part on adjacent days, with collection scheduled shortly after.
Officials encourage volunteers to follow safety guidelines, including wearing gloves and insect repellent, and taking precautions while working along roadways.
The annual event is part of a broader effort to keep Sudbury clean, healthy and welcoming for residents and visitors alike. You can sign up here.
