Adoptables at Buddy Dog Humane Society Treated to Spa Day

Canine Company spent the day giving doggy makeovers to shelter pups to get them ready to meet prospective adopters

A dozen canines awaiting forever homes at Buddy Dog Humane Society on Route 20 here were treated to “canine makeovers” today courtesy of at-home pet services provider Canine Company.

Two of Canine Company’s mobile pet spas and a team of professional groomers spent the day at Buddy Dog giving the dogs the “spa treatment” including shampoo and conditioner, nail trim, ear cleaning and more to get them ready for their new homes.

"We are so appreciative for the support of our friends at Canine Company,” said Lori Lincoln-Eshman, Exective Director of Buddy Dog. “It is obvious by the way the dogs strut and show off their new cuts and clean coats that they enjoyed their day of pampering. Well-groomed dogs are much more appealing to potential adopters and the spa day will definitely help increase adoption for the lucky participants." -

Among the dogs treated to makeovers at the spa day were Hannah, a 14-year-old Cocker spaniel; Mandy, a 3-year-old Husky mix; Angus, a 7-year-old St. Bernard mix and Bonnie, a year-old Saluki mix.

“We love to hold spa days for community animal shelters. Making sure adoption candidates look their best when they meet prospective adopters creates more ‘love at first sight’ moments, ” said Jennifer Hill, President and CEO of Canine Company. “As pet lovers ourselves, we are a passionate about supporting shelters in their mission to find forever homes for these sweet dogs.”
