Pedestrian Improvements Planned Near Goodnow Library In Sudbury

SUDBURY, MA — The town is planning pedestrian improvements along Concord Road near the library.

The project at Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Rd., would cost an estimated $116,737, the town says. Plans call for relocating the painted crosswalk, replacing sidewalk sections and installing curb ramps, granite curbing and a rapid-flashing pedestrian beacon, according to the Sudbury Department of Public Works.

The work would also include excavation, asphalt sidewalk replacement, granite edging and an asphalt berm.

Town Seeking Contractors

Sudbury is now seeking contractors for the project. Contractors must be prequalified by MassDOT for highway sidewalk and curbing work. Each bid must include a deposit equal to 5 percent of the total bid.

Sealed proposals are due to the Sudbury public works director at 275 Old Lancaster Road by 10 a.m. Oct. 8, when bids are scheduled to be opened publicly.
