U.S. Olympic Champion Evan Lysacek and Sudbury Resident Simon Shnapir Star in 100th Anniversary Ice Show
The Ice Chips 2012 show starring 2010 Olympic Champion Eric Lysacek and Mirai Nagasu, 2010 Olympian and 3-time U.S. Ladies Medalist also starred top skaters from the Boston area, like Sudbury resident Simon Shnapir, and his pairs partner, Marissa Castelli of
Cranston, Rhode Island. The Ice Chips 100 Years of Excellence skating show celebrated the dreams and accomplishments of the past, present,and future of figure skating.
Simon and Marissa began skating together in June of 2006. Both with previous Pairs experience, in just their third season together, they qualified for the 2008 Junior Grand Prix Final. In 2009, they were the U.S. Junior Pairs Bronze Medalists, and the 2009 World
Junior Pairs Bronze Medalists. Together, at the Senior Pairs level, they are among the top 5 in the country, placing 5th at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships for the past two years.

Simon and Marissa were among the featured soloists in the 100th Anniversary Ice Chips Production which celebrated the legacy of the world-renowned figure skating venue, The Skating Club of Boston, through an innovative, entertaining, and visually illuminating production. With a dramatic display of colors,
lights, and dazzling skating performances, the cast that took the audience on a fascinating journey through some of the most memorable highlights of the past
century.
Ice Chips is The Skating Club of Boston’s annual skating festival and the longest-running amateur ice show in the world. It has brought Boston audiences some of the biggest names in figure skating from around the world, while introducing them to current and future champions. The 2012 production of Ice Chips benefitted the Division of Sports Medicine at Children’s Hospital and the Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts.
