SUDBURY—Sudbury residents came out last Saturday to join Democratic state Senate candidate, Joe Kearns Goodwin of Concord for a cup of coffee at the Sudbury Coffee Works. They came to discuss the issues facing our community and hear the ways Kearns Goodwin plans to address these challenges once elected to the state Legislature.
“The politics of yesterday have turned so many voters away from the process. We need a new generation of leaders like Joe to bring a vision to state government,” said Sudbury resident and Bentley University professor, Susan Adams. ”In the days after September 11th, 2001, Joe asked himself how he could give back to the community and country that had given him so much and decided to enlist in the U.S. Army. That same sense of service is why he is running state Senate now. Joe will fight for us at the State House and put our needs first.”
“Individuals and families, who came out to our event, shared their personal stories with me – ranging from concerns about the quality of education delivered in our schools to campaign finance reforms,” said Kearns Goodwin. “It’s inspiring to see so many people invested in the future of our community and Commonwealth. Only by working together as a District and engaging all residents in our future can we address these concerns in a meaningful way. I intend to be a state Senator who will represent the Third Middlesex District’s diverse needs and address the challenges facing our communities.”
Goodwin’s stop at the Sudbury Coffee Works was the third of his district-wide “Cup o’Joe with Joe Tour” happening every Saturday morning in all nine cities and towns in the Third Middlesex District until July 28th. For a full schedule of Kearns Goodwin’s “Cup o’ Joe with Joe” tour, click here.
