'Avoid Route 20': Water Main Break Disrupts Traffic in Sudbury

Water pressures will be low in several areas of town, officials said.

SUDBURY, MA — A water main ruptured on Thursday morning in Sudbury, created traffic disruptions for drivers in town.

The water main break occurred on Route 20 near Union Ave, according to the Sudbury Fire Department. The valves were shut off on Thursday morning and repairs were underway.

Route 20 westbound was closed and detoured, officials said.

Water pressures will be low in several areas of town. WCVB reported that two million gallons of water have been lost due to the break.

Officials did not say how long repairs will take.
