Dan De Pompei and Todj Gozdeck for Selectmen

This is one letter in support of two great candidates for Selectman.

For the two year position, please vote for Todj Gozdeck.  I first got to know Todj when he presented an article to Town Meeting in 2010.  I also was proposing an article that year, and I can appreciate first-hand the time and effort he expended in this effort to improve Sudbury Town Government.

When I have requested information from him as chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission he's supplied prompt and helpful responses to my inquiries.  I value this active and concrete commitment to transparency which is particularly valuable in a Selectman.

I appreciate Todj’s other qualifications both in service to youth sports and in experience in the financial sector as well.

For the three year position, I support Dan De Pompei.  Dan cares deeply about local issues and has pursued open and responsive government with vigor, commitment, and tenacity.  He submitted a petition for an open Town Forum to encourage participation in current town operations.  It was approved by Town Meeting.  Two years later when no such forum had been held, he successfully re-submitted the article in binding form as an amendment to the Town’s bylaws.  Dan both respects the process necessary for orderly government and recognizes the need to monitor the results to be sure that we progress and achieve our goals.

Dan has a shown a willingness not only to discuss town matters openly and fairly, listening to all sides of the issue and respecting everyone, but to reach out to make sure the minority’s voice is heard.  I would welcome that attitude in town government.

For all these reasons, I urge your support for Dan De Pompei and Todj Gozdeck for Selectman.
