Letter to the Editor: DAN DePOMPEI; THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR SUDBURY

Letter to the Editor: DAN DePOMPEI; THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR SUDBURY Our best bet for Sudbury's future is to vote for Dan DePompei.

Sudbury’s semi-annual public forum just voted at the 2013 Annual Town Meeting is an example of Dan’s thoughtful, persistent leadership to improve Sudbury.  Dan initiated this idea three years ago with a citizen sponsored warrant article.  It was voted by town meeting in an advisory form.  After two years of inaction by the Selectmen and Town Manager, Dan revived his initiative in its present mandatory form.  The first forum will be this fall.

Dan has demonstrated thoughtful independent thinking on the town budget, resource allocation, capital planning, town management, and voter participation, all of which were subjects of articles he wrote for the Sudbury Town Crier and Sudbury Patch.

Dan’s philosophy is that the Selectmen must lead but it’s the voters who should decide critical strategic issues.  What separates Dan from his opponent is that he trusts the voters’ judgment and wants them more involved in making the strategic decisions Sudbury faces.

Dan is the best choice as he has significant management experience, listens well to all sides, has thoughtful independent thinking, and has the persistence necessary to turn ideas into implemented policy.

Our best bet for Sudbury’s future is to vote for Dan DePompei.
