We all want to instill certain behaviors in our children, but oftentimes work and everyday life get in the way and we can forget about the small things that simply add a smile to our faces. The values of Thanksgiving are values that are important year round. Thanksgiving dinner is a great time to reflect and share them with your children.

  • Practice giving thanks all year long by setting the tone in your everyday life.
  • A positive attitude is infectious!  Always look on the brighter side of things.
  • Hard work = rewards.
  • Appreciate the things right in front of us that are wonderful; health, family, food, shelter, etc.

Have each guest pick a name out of a hat. Someone begins with the first name and gives that person a compliment: Nice smile, delicious stuffing, beautiful flower arrangements, etc. Next, the person who was complimented takes their turn. After the whole table has gone through the names, the game is complete and everyone has that nice feeling to warm their hearts!
