Woodard is the best choice!

As Chairman of the Planning Board for the last ten years I had the opportunity to work with many talented and dedicated public servants.  Chuck Woodard ranks among the highest caliber of these individuals, and I write to offer my enthusiastic support in his candidacy for Selectman.

Several bloggers have highlighted Chuck’s many years of business experience, financial acumen, and distinguished service as a member and chairman of the Finance Committee.  His competency is unrivaled, and in my opinion, he is clearly the most qualified of any candidate.

In this tumultuous political climate, however, I think it is Chuck’s personal qualities that make him the clear choice.  His strengths are many, but perhaps the greatest attribute he brings to public service is an unwavering sense of fairness and respect.  I have consistently observed Chuck exercise judgment, restraint, and patience to ensure that the public decision-making process is fair to all.  Chuck also brings balance, perspective, and an understanding that many voices make up the whole.  Supporters of expanding the BOS spoke of the need for transparency and greater citizen input.  Chuck’s record as chair of the Finance Committee, and his innate respect for other people, will ensure these goals are achieved.
