The Apple Bear Cookie Co. launched the best ABC book and song for kids 0 to 6: The Apple Bear Cookie Book and Song.

The local author, Susan Sabbatelli, wrote it over 30 years ago to teach her kindergarten students to learn to read in a fun way. She wanted to keep it affordable for all, so it's still only $10 on the website, https://applebear.co.

On January 13, 2025, Massachusetts author Susan Sabbatelli visited the Sudbury Cooperative Preschool to read The Apple Bear Cookie Book. With decades of early childhood experience, Susan talked about imagination and how you can be an author at ANY age!

With a group of 2 to 3-year-olds and 4 to 5-year-olds, Susan differentiated her presentations for unique learning levels. She talked about authors and their ideas for their books, getting ideas from our imagination, and how the students could write about anything: their weekend, sports they like, or even what they ate for breakfast! The children eagerly joined in, picked their favorite characters, and learned through music and fun.

In a wonderful show of support, the Sudbury Cooperative Preschool got copies of The Apple Bear Cookie Book for students. The generosity shows how dedicated the Sudbury Cooperative School is to its education, community, and literacy. If you have young readers in preschool and kindergarten, get local authors to visit and read their books to provide memorable and motivating school experiences. Susan Sabbatelli and the Apple Bear Cookie Co. believes in getting children excited about reading and learning at an early age and would be happy to visit your local preschool or kindergarten classroom next.
